The origins and stories of Southam's Inns, Taverns and Public Houses goes back across many centuries and involves the creation of over twenty establishments in the market town. Apart from setting out the national legal framework and some folklore background relating to the Inns, this brief history attempts to outline the foundations of most of the town's Public Houses, their locations, amenities, licensees and some of the stories associated with them, some good, some unusual and some rather notirious!
